Stephan Fiedler

Stephan Fiedler, born 1963 in Stuttgart, studied graphics and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and communication design at the Folkwangschule / University of Essen. Beside his studies, he worked in Karl Imhof’s studio for printmaking in Munich. His interest in graphic techniques led more and more to a deeper interest in the connection of image and text and especially in the form of artists’ book. In 1992 he collaborated with Limestone Press/Hine Editions in San Francisco for several months. Since 1993 Stephan has lived and worked as a freelance graphic designer in Berlin. He has designed numerous exhibition catalogues, artists books and editions, since 1999 again and again for Edizioni Periferia, too. Since 2012 he has regularly taught typography at the HTW Berlin.
