Beetle Tales from Lemusa

“Lemusa, a fictional island, is inhabited by a host of exceptional beetles. The Gorsa, for example, has a carapace of pure gold; the Qwittikol is invisible (except when it rains); the Èpsakok has sunk entire seagoing vessels; and if you pamper the Pamsak by feeding it the eggs of the Husol Frog, it will supposedly travel with you through time. Some of these beetles already attracted the attention of human beings hundreds of years ago. Some are mentioned in historical sources, others are recorded as having been identified in reliefs or in paintings. The long history of 10 such Karabé is presented in this publication, each accompanied by short stories set in the age in which they were first identified. The chronology ranges from the 15th century BC to the year 1877.”
