«Christoph Rütimann collected art books and washed them in a washing machine. The choice pictures were transmuted into a raw product, at best of interest only to paper factories. But the destruction of pictures does not end there. Rütimann places vandalism at the beginning of creation. His art-book washing machine is embedded in works wich he selected from the permanent collection of the Aargauer Kunsthaus. Painting from Caspar Wolf’s Beatushöhle to Renée Levi’s yellow cylinders of cardboard, is profiled as a complex interplay of colours and shapes. » ( NZZ an Sonntag 8.8.02, Gerhard Mack)
