The work of Swiss artist Andrea Wolfensberger signals a highly idiosyncratic and forthright position in the current artistic discourse on the theme of nature. Her approach to energy-induced formations, natural processes, temporality and contingency gives rise to a highly personal view anchored between scientific abstraction and narrative poetry. The range of media used by the artist in her work is quite astonishing in its diversity and includes painting, sculpture, photography, film, video and installations. The monographic publication retraces the fundamental strategies and continued exploration of specific themes in the artist’s work, examining them within the context of current theoretical models.
